Dear Parents,

FAITHFULNESS – A VITAL VIRTUE
There are many virtues we want to see inculcated in our children. One of them must be that of “faithfulness”.

A faithful man will abound with blessings,
But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.

Proverbs 28:20

1. What does it mean to be faithful?

a) This person of course possesses faith.

b) Faith always involves an element of “hope”.

c) There are some things that are not yet realized.

d) However the faithful person will patiently wait and trust that he will be blessed!

e) He does not believe in shortcuts.

f) He will hold fast to his integrity while waiting for blessings to come.

g) The faithful man will be rewarded and will abound with blessings.

2. The contrast is striking… we have the unfaithful man here

a) He is not willing to wait.

b) He will try and take short cuts.

c) He will not wait to be blessed by God.

d) He will do anything to be rich.

i) He may rob and steal.

ii) He may scheme and plot.

e) Ultimately he loses out.

He “will not go unpunished”.
