According to the Riches of His Grace

(I) THE DOCTRINE OF GRACE

1. It is mentioned in the Old Testament

2. It is especially developed in the New Testament

3. It received special attention from the apostle Paul

a) Because of Divine Revelation

b) Because of Personal experience

(II) A DOCTRINE TAKEN TOO MUCH FOR GRANTED

1. Doctrine becomes mere “theory”

2. Doctrine was meant to be:-

a) Relevant

b) Enriching

c) Personal

(III) AN ATTEMPT TO DESCRIBE “GRACE”

1. It is described aptly as:-

a) “The glory of His grace” (Ephesians 1:6)

b) “The riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7)

2. It is also described as the basis of God’s dealings with mankind

“…according to the riches of His grace” Ephesians 1:7

(IV) THE APPLICATION OF THE GRACE OF GOD IN OUR LIFE

1. All blessings from God stem from the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:3)

2. Our very redemption and all its benefits stem from God’s grace (Ephesians 1:7)

a) Sonship ( Ephesians 1:5 )

b) Forgiveness of sins ( Ephesians 1:7 )

c) Redemption ( Ephesians 1:7 )

(V) OUR RESPONSE TO THE RICHES OF GOD’S GRACE

1. We must not allow our hearts to take for granted God’s grace

2. We must seek to fathom and appreciate the riches of His grace

3. We must ever seek to give God the glory due to His name

4. We must seek to walk worthy of God’s grace
