(I) STRUGGLES IN LIFE
“O LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger…” Psalm 6:1a
1. Fear of God’s anger (Psalm 6:1)
2. Dread of personal weaknesses (Psalm 6:3)
3. Dark troubles of the soul (Psalm 6:3)
4. Fear of death (Psalm 6:5)
5. Depressive tears (Psalm 6:6-7)
(II) STRUGGLING IN PRAYER
“Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am weak…” Psalm 6:2a
1. Pleading the mercy of God in prayer (Psalm 6:2a)
2. Pleading for deliverance urgently (Psalm 6:4)
3. Appealing to God’s compassion (Psalm 6:6-7)
a) Weariness through groaning
b) Wasting away of the eyes through shedding of tears
(III) SUCCESS IN OVERCOMING STRUGGLES
“The LORD has heard my supplications” Psalm 6:9a
1. Knowledge that God has heard the voice of weeping (Psalm 6:8b)
2. Assurance that God has heard the voice of supplication (Psalm 6:9a)
3. Assurance that God will receive the prayers offered (Psalm 6:9b)
(IV)STRENGTH TO FACE THE STRUGGLES OF LIFE
1. Facing enemies resolutely (Psalm 6:8)
2. Facing enemies with new-found strength and confidence (Psalm 6:10a)
3. Facing enemies with a courage and hope (Psalm 6:10b)
