Do Not Be Silent to Me

THE PROBLEM OF THE SILENCE OF GOD

1. Dreaded and feared

Understandably so!

2. What the Silence of God may mean

a) The anger of the Lord
b) The chastisement of God
c) The breaking of a relationship with God
d) The withdrawal of blessing from God

3. The known Silence of God against wickedness

a) The workers of iniquity
i) They speak peace
ii) But evil is in their heart
b) Wicked expressions
i) Wicked deeds
ii) Wicked endeavours
iii) They do not regard the works of the Lord
c) God’s punitive action
i) God will deal with them according to their works
ii) He will destroy them
iii) He will not build them up

DETERMINING TO PRAY DESPITE THE SILENCE OF GOD

1. Addressing awareness of the Silence of God

a) To You I will cry
b) O LORD, my Rock
c) Do not be silent to me   (Psalm 28:1)

2. Expressing fear of the Continued Silence of God

a) Lest, if You are silent to Me
b) I become like those who go down to the pit   (Psalm 28:1)
c) Fear of death and destruction

3. Praying aright

a) Offering supplications (intense prayers)
b) When I cry to You
i) When I lift up holy hands
ii) Toward Your holy sanctuary

DEEP APPRECIATION THAT GOD HAS BROKEN HIS SILENCE

1. Blessing of the Lord

a) Because He has heard the voice of my supplication
b) The Lord is indeed our strength and shield
c) My heart trusted and I am helped   (Psalm 28:7)

2. Rejoicing in the Lord

a) My heart greatly rejoices
b) And with my song I will praise Him   (Psalm 28:7)

3. Praying for the Lord’s continued blessing on His people   (Psalm 28:9)
