INTRODUCTION

1. Reviewing our knowledge of God

a) His many wonderful attributes
b) Meditating on what we know of the Lord

2. Renewing our faith in the Lord

a) A vibrant relationship
b) A vigorous faith and life

3. Revitalising our Prayer-life

a) Prayer is a vital thing to comprehend
b) Deepening our prayer-relationship with God is of great significance

4. Knowledge of God revealed

a) His mercy   (Psalm 36:5a)
b) His faithfulness   (Psalm 36:5b)
c) His righteousness   (Psalm 36:6a)
d) His judgments   (Psalm 36:6b)

DEFINING THE LOVINGKINDNESS OF GOD

1. Made up of two words

a) Love
b) Kindness
c) Conflated as one word: “Lovingkindness of God”

2. It is closely associated with the other attributes of God

a) Mercy
b) Faithfulness

3. It is what God shows to mankind

a) Practical
b) Personal
c) Powerful

THE LOVINGKINDNESS OF GOD MENTIONED

7 Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand,

APPLICATION OF THE LOVINGKINDNESS OF GOD

1. In prayer

That God would continue to show lovingkindness   (Psalm 36:10a)
a) As in the past
b) So, in the present and future
c) God would continue to relate to us with the same lovingkindness

2. Especially to the following:

a) To those who know the Lord
b) To the upright in heart

3. In tough times

a) In the context of being surrounded by the prideful   (Psalm 36:11)
b) Amidst much wickedness in the world   (Psalm 36:1-4, 11-12)

CONCLUSION

1. Recalling Paul’s teaching in Titus 3:4-5

a) Mercy
b) Kindness
c) Love
d) Grace

2. Emulating the example of David

3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips shall praise You.
4 Thus I will bless You while I live;
I will lift up my hands in Your name.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness,

6 When I remember You on my bed,
I meditate on You in the night watches.
