(I) THE PAULINE TEAM OF WORKERS

1. The apostle Paul did not work alone

2. He was blessed with a strong team of fellow-labourers

3. The success of Paul’s ministry may be said to be linked to this team of workers

4. Paul personally singled out many individuals who served with him

(Cf. Romans 16; Colossians 4; 2 Timothy 4; Ephesians 6)

5. This was Paul’s way of acknowledging the roles of these fallow-labourers

(II) TYCHICUS- AN ALMOST TYPICAL TEAM-PLAYER

1. A spirit of humility

“Tychicus… will make all things known to you, whom I have sent for this very purpose,
that you may know my affairs and how I am doing.” Ephesians 6:21-22

b) Imagine traveling to keep the brethren informed!

c) Not everyone can do mundane work effectively

2. A spirit of love

a) Deep affection in Christ

b) Deep affection as a proven brother

3. A spirit of service

b) “Minister”- highlights humble (even menial) service
