THE COLOSSIAN CHURCH
1. The founder was probably Epaphras (Colossians 1:7)
2. Epaphras was described well by the Apostle Paul
a) Our dear fellow servant (Colossians 1:7)
b) A faithful minister of Christ (Colossians 1:7)
c) He informed Paul about the Colossians
i) Displayed love of the Spirit
ii) Love is an obvious fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
THE FAITH OF THE COLOSSIAN CHRISTIANS
1. Faith
Faith in Christ Jesus (Colossians 1:4a)
2. Love
Love for all the saints (Colossians 1:4b)
3. Hope
Hope laid up in the heavens (Colossians 1:5)
THIS FAITH IS COMMON IN ALL THE WORLD
1. Centred in the Word of the Truth of the gospel (Colossians 1:6)
2. It brings forth fruit (Colossians 1:6)
3. The grace of God in truth (Colossians 1:6)
THANKSGIVING TO GOD
1. For all who have come to a true faith in Christ Jesus
2. The marks of a true faith in Christ were seen obviously in the Colossians
