I Will Bless You

(I) THE PROMISE OF BLESSINGS

“I will bless you” Genesis 12:2

1. The Greatness of God’s promises to Abraham (Genesis 12:1-2)

a) From one man to a great nation

b) From having no land to having a great land

c) From a nobody to one with a great name

d) Through one man all the families of the earth will be blessed

2. The Great love and involvement of God in keeping promises (Genesis 12:1-2)

a) God will show

b) God will bless

c) God will make

(II) THE EXAMPLE OF FAITH OF ABRAHAM IN THE PROMISE OF BLESSING

1. Faith to obey God and His word

“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place…” Hebrews 11:8

2. Faith to face the unknown / challenges

“And he went out, not knowing where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8

3. Faith to follow through

“By faith, he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise…” Hebrews 11:9

4. Faith to see beyond

“For he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God” Hebrews 11:10

(III) THE RELEVANCE OF THIS PROMISE OF BLESSING TODAY

1. Thinking God for the way He has blessed Bethany

a) His salvation

b) His word

c) His grace

d) His strength

e) His leaders

f) His people

2. The challenge is to have the same faith as Abraham
