(I) THE CREATION OF MAN

1. In God’s image

“Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to our likeness…” Genesis 1:26

2. Highlights of this Image of God

“And have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him” Colossians 3:10

 

“And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:24

a) Knowledge

b) True righteousness

c) Holiness

(II) CREATED FOR GLORY

“Everyone who is called by My name,
Whom I have created for My glory;
I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”
Isaiah 43:7

a) Made capable of bringing great glory to God

b) Made carefully to bring forth the glory of God

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ…
To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.”
Ephesians 1:3, 6

 

“…you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

(III) RAMIFICATIONS OF UNDERSTANDING THE CONCEPT OF BEING CREATED FOR GOD’S GLORY

“But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name; You are Mine.”
