MY GOD, MY STRENGTH, IN WHOM I WILL TRUST

 

(I) REMEMBERING OVERWHELMING CIRCUMSTANCES

1. Facing near death situations (Psalm 18:4-5)

2. Facing enemies that were too strong for him (Psalm 18:17)

3. Facing many waters (Psalm 18:16)


(II) PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF GOD AS OUR STRENGTH

“My God…” Psalm 18:2

1. He is my Rock

2. He is my strength

3. He is my fortress

4. He is my deliverer

5. He is my shield

6. He is the horn of my salvation

7. He is my stronghold


(III) PERSONAL EXPEREINCE OF STRENGTH FROM GOD

“My strength…” Psalm 18:2

1. Positions of Strength

a) God as my support (Psalm 18:18)

b) God makes my way perfect (Psalm 18:30)

c) God brings greatness (Psalm 18:35)

2. Experience of Strength

a) Strength from enlightenment (Psalm 18:28)

b) By God I can (Psalm 18:29)

c) Strength to climb mountains (Psalm 18:33)

d) Strength to battle (Psalm 18:39)

 

(IV) PERSONAL APPLICATION OF TRUST IN OUR GOD FOR THE FUTURE

“In whom I will trust” Psalm 18:2

1. I can trust God

a) I will call upon the Lord (Psalm 18:3)

b) I will love the Lord (Psalm 18:1)

c) I will give thanks to God (Psalm 18:46, 49)
