“PRESERVE ME, O GOD, FOR IN YOU I HAVE PUT MY TRUST”

 

(I) BLESSING THE NAME OF THE LORD

Psalm 34:1

1. Praising the Lord

“I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth” Psalm 34:1

2. Exulting in the Lord

“My soul shall make its boast in the LORD” Psalm 34:2

3. Exalting the Lord’s name

“Magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together” Psalm 34:3

 

(II) PEOPLE WHO HAVE TRUSTED IN THE LORD

1. The testimony of the Psalmist (Psalm 34:4)

a) Answered prayer (Psalm 34:4)

b) Deliverance from fear (Psalm 34:4)

2. Testimony of others

a) Those who looked to the Lord (Psalm 34:5)

i) Radiant faces

ii) Unashamed

b) The poor

i) The Lord heard him too (Psalm 34:6)

ii) Saved him out of all his troubles (Psalm 34:6)

c) The righteous

i) The Lord hears their prayer

ii) He delivers them out of all their troubles (Psalm 34:17)

d) His servants

i) He redeems their souls

ii) They will not be condemned (Psalm 34:22)

 

(III) ENCOURAGEMENT TO TRUST THE LORD

1. To those who do not know God

To taste and see (Psalm 34:8)

2. To those who are His saints

To fear the Lord always (Psalm 34:9)

3. To children

a) To learn the fear of the Lord (Psalm 34:11)

b) To learn the ways of the Lord

i) To refrain from speaking evil (Psalm 34:12)

ii) To depart from evil (Psalm 34:14)

iii) To do good (Psalm 34:14)

iv) To pursue peace (Psalm 34:15)
