“I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel” Daniel 6:26

2. A royal decree that compels obedience

(III) THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ROYAL DECREE

1. The Royal Decree as a personal testimony of the King’s regard for God

2. The Royal Decree as a legal document

a) It will protect all believers of God

b) It serves as a warning against all who would plot against God’s people

3. The Royal Decree as a rare testimony

a) Acknowledging the God of Daniel

b) It falls just short of a personal declaration of faith in God

(IV) THE CONTENT OF THE ROYAL DECREE

1. With reference to God

a) He is called “The God of Daniel” ( Daniel 6:26a )

b) He is “The Living God” ( Daniel 6: 26b )

c) He is “steadfast forever” ( Daniel 6:26c )

d) He is One who “delivers and rescues” ( Daniel 6:27a )

e) He is One who “works signs and wonders” ( Daniel 6:27b )

2. With reference to the Kingdom of God

a) His kingdom cannot be destroyed ( Daniel 6:26d )

b) His dominion shall endure to the end ( Daniel 6:26e )
