I am Afflicted Very Much; Revive Me, O LORD, According to Your Word

THE TRIALS OF LIFE

1. Some afflictions are severe

“Unless Your law had been my delight,
I would then have perished in my affliction”   Psalm 119:92

2. Presence of the wicked

“The wicked wait for me to destroy me”   Psalm 119:95
“The wicked have laid a snare for me”   Psalm 119:110

3. Many afflictions

“I am afflicted very much”   Psalm 119:107

ANOTHER PRAYER FOR REVIVAL

Revive me, O LORD, according to Your word (Psalm 119:107)

1. A prayer offered in sorrow

“I am afflicted very much”   Psalm 119:107a

2. A prayer offered in humility

“Revive me, O LORD”   Psalm 119:107

3. A prayer offered in times of danger

“My life is continually in my hand”   Psalm 119:109

4. A prayer offered in trust in God’s Word

“Your testimonies I have taken as an heritage forever”   Psalm 119:111

THE SPIRITUAL STATE OF THE PSALMIST

1. His oath to keep God’s commandments

“I have sworn and confirmed
That I will keep Your righteous judgments”   Psalm 119:106

2. Not strayed away

“I have not strayed from Your precepts”   Psalm 119:110

3. Determination to keep God’s word

“Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever”   Psalm 119:111
“I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever,
To the very end”   Psalm 119:112

4. The Psalmist is spiritually stronger

But he still feels that he needs Spiritual Revival
