(II) A GREAT BENEDICTION

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,Make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Hebrews 13:20-2 1

1. The Giver of the blessing

a) The God of peace

b) The God who, with supreme power, raised Jesus from the dead

2. The Mediator of God’s blessings

a) The great Shepherd of the sheep

b) Through the shedding of His blood

c) In the context of the everlasting covenant

3. The Content of the Benediction

a) Made complete

i) Fully Mature

ii) Fully equipped

b) Power involved

i) God will work in us personally

ii) God will work in us individually

c) Purpose

i) To do God’s will

ii) To do what is pleasing in God’s sight

iii) To the glory of the Lord

(III) BLESSINGS OF GOD TO A TROUBLED WORLD

1. The needs of a troubled world

a) Physical needs

b) Spiritual needs

2. Meeting the needs of the world

a) Those who have been blessed

b) A challenge to share the blessings of God
