HE WILL QUIET YOU WITH HIS LOVE

THE PROPHET ZEPHANIAH
He was a rare prophet who had royal blood. He was from the line of King Hezekiah (Zephaniah 1:1). He was one of the pre-exilic prophets who prophesied of the time when God would cause the Assyrian empire to fall.
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 The Lord has taken away your judgments,
He has cast out your enemy.
The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst;
You shall see disaster no more.
16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem:
“Do not fear;
Zion, let not your hands be weak.
17 The Lord your God in your midst,
The Mighty One, will save;
He will rejoice over you with gladness,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:14-17
- Rejoicing in the LORD
a) A Call to rejoice in God was issued

a) God has cast out the enemy
b) He is in the midst of His people
c) He is the King of Israel
d) He will remove disasters
3. More reasons given
a) God will rejoice over His people
b) He will quieten His people with His love
c) He will save them with a mighty hand
GOD’S LOVE
The love of the LORD was an everlasting one. It was out of love that He would reach out and redeem His people!
