WHOM I HAVE CHOSEN

PRECIOUS WORDS

God’s word to His people were truly both personal and precious. These tender words must bring great warmth and encouragement to the heart.

1 “Yet hear now, O Jacob My servant,
And Israel whom I have chosen.

2 Thus says the Lord who made you
And formed you from the womb, who will help you:
‘Fear not, O Jacob My servant;
And you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty,
And floods on the dry ground;
I will pour My Spirit on your descendants,
And My blessing on your offspring     Isaiah 44:1-3

  1. Personal

a) Jacob’s name was mentioned

b) God remembered the time when He called Jacob, “Israel”

c) Jacob was “Jeshurun” to God

i)  A name that was spoken with affection

ii) Jacob was “righteous” in God’s sight

  1. Relationship

a) Jacob was chosen 

b) He was chosen to serve God

What a privilege to be called “My servant”

PRECIOUS PROMISES

God gave wonderful promises to Jacob as he served Him.

  1. God promised Divine help
  1. He promised refreshing water to quench thirst
  1. He promised to give the Holy Spirit to his descendants
  1. God would grant wonderful blessing to all who serve Him
