A NEW PULPIT THEME

For the months of May and June 2023, we will be having Pulpit Messages on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Let us seek to cultivate our knowledge of the Spirit of God.

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 

14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.     Ephesians 1:13-14

THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION

The Apostle Paul was a great evangelist preaching the gospel of salvation most effectively. 

  1. Many came to trust the Lord Jesus as their Saviour
  1. They welcomed the Gospel of salvation
  1. They heard the Gospel as the word of truth from God

THE MINISTRY OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD

Paul went to explain how the Spirit of God is involved in the Gospel of salvation.

  1. The Holy Spirit as a Seal of God

a) In ancient days, Seals were used:

i)   To mark ownership

ii)  To identify the owner

iii) To confirm that the object truly belongs to the owner

b) The Holy Spirit was that Special Seal given by God to every true believer

i)   The Holy Spirit confirms that we are the Lord’s

ii)  His Presence is full confirmation of our being children of God

  1. The Holy Spirit as our Guarantee

a) We need not fear that we might lose our salvation

b) The Spirit of God is given to us to assure us that God would always remember us as the adopted children of the Lord

APPROPRIATE RESPONSE

Let us desire to learn more about the Holy Spirit in God’s plan of salvation. His role in our life is of vital significance! May we desire to be filled with the Spirit of God!
