YOU HAVE CAUSED ME TO HOPE

BENEFITS FROM READING SCRIPTURE
There are many benefits from reading the Scriptures diligently. The psalmist bears testimony of how he was blessed as he read the Scriptures.
49 Remember the word to Your servant,
Upon which You have caused me to hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction,
For Your word has given me life.
54 Your statutes have been my songs
In the house of my pilgrimage.
55 I remember Your name in the night, O Lord,
And I keep Your law.
56 This has become mine,
Because I kept Your precepts. Psalm 119:49-50, 54-56

Comfort is found despite afflictions experienced
c) Life
The Word of God breathes new life into us
d) Songs
The heart becomes happy and breaks forth into song
This is but a short list of benefits when we read the Scriptures faithfully.

a) Remembering
Let us remember the LORD who gave us the Scriptures
b) Keeping
The Scriptures must be kept diligently
c) Personalising
The Scriptures must be personalised. They must become real and personal
APPROPRIATE RESPONSE
Let us make an effort to read the Scriptures faithfully. The benefits outweigh all the effort that we put in!
