A LIFE BLESSED BY GOD DEEPLY
A life that is blessed by God deeply does not occur “overnight”. In reality, great blessings may be compared to fruit-bearing. A tree does not bear fruit in a day or two.
A BIBLICAL FRAMEWORK
The following text gives us a framework of what must be done if we seek great blessings from the LORD.
9 How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes. Psalm 119:9-12
- We need to deal with our sins
a) We must recognize our sinfulness
b) We must repent and seek the Lord for grace and mercy for cleansing
- The Place of the Word of God must be understood
a) We need to take heed of the Word of God
i) Cleansing is only the first step
ii) We need more than cleansing
b) The Word of God plays a vital role
i) It strengthens a person
ii) It helps the person to battle sin effectively
c) The truly cleansed person will do the following:
i) He will hide God’s word in his heart
ii) He will seek not to fall into sin so easily
iii) He will ask the LORD to teach him how to understand His word
LET US HIDE GOD’S WORD IN OUR HEART
Let us make every effort to hide God’s word in our heart. The Word of God will fortify our spirit so that we will be able to resist the power of sin!
