IN THE HEIGHTS OF THE EARTH
Text: Deuteronomy 32

GOD’S LOVINGKINDNESS
The Lord showed much more than mercy to the children of Israel. He graciously showered them with lovingkindness. The expressions of His lovingkindness were obvious!
13 “He made him ride in the heights of the earth,
That he might eat the produce of the fields;
He made him draw honey from the rock,
And oil from the flinty rock;
14 Curds from the cattle, and milk of the flock,
With fat of lambs;
And rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats,
With the choicest wheat;
And you drank wine, the blood of the grapes.
15 “But Jeshurun grew fat and kicked;
You grew fat, you grew thick,
You are obese!
Then he forsook God who made him,
And scornfully esteemed the Rock of his salvation. Deuteronomy 32:13-15
- He made him ride in the heights of the earth
a) This speaks of success
b) It also tells of exaltation
c) From being slaves in Egypt, Israel was riding high in the heights of the earth

The Lord provided everything that the children of Israel could have wished for!
WRONG RESPONSES
The children of Israel sadly came up with the set of responses! Instead of being grateful, the following responses were noted:
- The nation grew fat and kicked
- The people became “obese”
- Israel forsook the Lord who made the nation
- The nation scornfully esteemed the Lord as their Rock
OUR CHALLENGE
We have been wonderfully blessed too! Let us guard our hearts carefully, lest we end up departing from the Lord!
Let us be truly grateful for the many blessings God has poured into our lives! May we treasure the lovingkindness of the Lord!
