THE LORD IS FAITHFUL
Text: 2 Thessalonians 2

THE FAITHFULNESS OF THE LORD
Thank God that He has always been faithful. And His faithfulness is evident in so many ways! This is evident in the Thessalonian epistles.
- In bringing salvation to the Thessalonians 1 Thessalonians 1:1-4
- In the power of His word 1 Thessalonians 1:5-8
- In enabling the believers to become examples to many 1 Thessalonians 1:8
SOME CONCERNS
The Apostle Paul was concerned about the believers:
- He could not spend more time in developing the church work
- There was persecution of the believers
- There were things still lacking in the faith of the believers 1 Thessalonians 3:10
PRAYERS OFFERED
Wisely and diligently, Paul prayed for the Thessalonians! There was so much he could do. Prayer would reach way beyond his human ability.
- Giving thanks firstly 1 Thessalonians 1:2
- Interceding earnestly, night and day 1 Thessalonians 3:10
CONFIDENCE GAINED
Paul was concerned about the establishing of the Church in Thessalonica. But soon, he became convinced!
- Desire to establish the Church expressed 1 Thessalonians 2:2
- Fear that the Evil One could destroy all the efforts put in 1 Thessalonians 2:5
- Prayer and faith prevailed
The Lord would establish the Church!
3 But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, both that you do and will do the things we command you. 2 Thessalonians 3:3-4
BASIS OF CONFIDENCE
This is wonderfully stated in no uncertain terms!
- The Lord is faithful
- He will establish
- He will guard from the evil one
This must be our faith and our confidence too! Thank God that we can be very certain of what the Lord can do as we trust in Him
