FOUNDED ON THE ROCK
Text: Matthew 7:24-29; Luke 6:46-49

THE STORMS OF LIFE
2020 will be remembered as the Covid-19 year! In recent memory, we have not seen such an impact on our country!
- Iconic companies have closed
- Vacations overseas have come to a standstill
- Restrictions on many activities were curtailed
- The infection count numbered in 8 figures
- The death toll has been sobering
This year has seen a tremendous storm that has battered many lives!
THE CHURCH IN THE EYE OF THE STORM
How may we survive in year ahead of us? It would be a time for all to rebuild their lives. Let us be reminded of what the Lord Jesus taught.
47 Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like:
48 He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
49 But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built a house on the earth without a foundation, against which the stream beat vehemently; and immediately it fell. And the ruin of that house was great. Luke 6:47-49
- Three vital actions to be noted
a) Coming to the Lord
b) Hearing His word
c) Doing what He has taught
- The task of building a house
a) Foundations are important
b) Building on a Rock-foundation
- The storms of life
a) They cannot affect a house that is well-built
b) But the house that is built on sand would suffer ruin

Let us look forward with great faith to the New Year ahead. Let us learn valuable lessons in the year that is fast slipping away! Let us find renewed faith and hope for a stronger year in 2021!
