GREATLY TO BE PRAISED

Text: Psalm 48
9 August 2020

A PSALM FROM THE SONS OF KORAH

The Sons of Korah were Levites. They assisted the priests in their work in the Temple. One of their duties was to help teach Israel about the Lord. Some of them wrote Psalms.

Some of the Psalms they wrote were laced with tinges of anxiety and sadness. Others were much brighter. Psalm 48 is one of the brighter Psalms written.

Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised

In the city of our God,

In His holy mountain.

Beautiful in elevation,

The joy of the whole earth,

Is Mount Zion on the sides of the north,

The city of the great King.

God is in her palaces;

He is known as her refuge.

14 For this is God,

Our God forever and ever;

He will be our guide

Even to death.     Psalm 48:1-3, 14
