OUR WORSHIP OF THE LORD

Sometimes, the worship of the LORD gets taken for granted, especially so with the passing of the years! It is good and refreshing to revisit the whole concept of worship from time to time.

DAVID’S WORSHIP OF THE LORD

There are many features of worship highlighted in Psalm 138.

I will worship toward Your holy temple,

And praise Your name

For Your lovingkindness and Your truth.     Psalm 138:2

The following tenets are worth noting. Though only two main things were highlighted, each is full of content!

  1. Worship includes praise

a) I will praise You with my whole heart

b) It is important that we praise the Lord

c) It is equally important that we offer praise with the whole heart

  1. Ensuring that our praise given to the Lord is full of content

a) There must be remembrance of the following things about the LORD

i)   The Lord’s lovingkindness     Psalm 138:2

ii)  His truth     Psalm 138:2

iii) His word that is wonderfully magnified     Psalm 138:2

iv) The wondrous ways of the LORD     Psalm 138:5a

v)  The greatness of His glory     Psalm 138:5b

b) The following must also be remembered about God’s relationship with us

i)   How the Lord has answered prayers     Psalm 138:3a

ii)  How the Lord emboldens the heart     salm 138:3b

iii) His regard for the lowly     Psalm 138:6a

iv) Her will revive the soul     Psalm 138:7a

v)  He will save His own     Psalm 138:c

vi) He will perfect that which concerns His children     Psalm 138:8a

OFFERING PRAISE WITH A WHOLE HEART

Let us offer to the Lord heartfelt worship! Anything less is not worthy to be offered to the LORD!
