They would also be captives in Babylon Jeremiah 29:1-2

b) Famine
c) Pestilence Jeremiah 29:18
THE SALVATION GOD OFFERED
It would take nothing less than a mighty saving work that God must effect to rescue Judah out of its predicament! To the woe-begotten nation God had this to say.
Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob, says the LORD,
Nor be dismayed, O Israel;
For behold, I will save you from afar,
And your seed from the land of their captivity.
Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet,
And no one shall make him afraid.
For I am with you, says the LORD, to save you,
Though I make a full end of all nations
Where I have scattered you,
Yet I will not make a complete end of you,
But I will correct you in justice,
And will not let you go altogether unpunished. Jeremiah 30:10-11
- Chastisement must take place
a) This must be understood and accepted
b) The erring and sinful nation must be corrected in justice
c) The nation could not go unpunished
- Exhortation to the nation
a) They need not be dismayed
b) They need not fear
- God will save His people
a) He will bring back His people back to their homeland
b) He will be with His people
c) He will make a complete end of His people
This was the salvation plan that God wanted His people to understand! This plan of redemption must be most carefully understood! God’s plans are never easy to comprehend!
