BLESSED IS THE MAN
Text: Genesis 1

DID GOD INTEND TO BLESS MAN?
The answer is an assured Yes! When God first created man, He gave them His blessing. Let us read again the Creation account.
So God created man in His own image;
In the image of God He created him;
Male and female He created them.
Then God blessed them, and God said to them,
Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth
And subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea,
Over the birds of the air, and over every living thing
That moves on the earth. Genesis 1:27-28
THE BLESSING OF MAN
This was carefully pronounced. The blessings of God must be carefully understood and appreciated!
1. The Blessing of being made in the image of God
a) This is an amazing blessing
b) In what way is man made in the image of God?
c) Three things may be highlighted: –
i) In true righteousness Ephesians 4:24
ii) In holiness Ephesians 4:24
iii) In knowledge Colossians 3:10
2. The Blessing of having procreative power
a) Mankind has procreative power
b) Mankind can be fruitful and multiply
3. The Blessing of “Dominion”
a) Mastery of the earth
b) Dominion over all forms of life
i) Sea creatures
ii) Land creatures
iii) Air creatures
WITH BLESSINGS COME RESPONSIBILITY
Man must understand this basic principle attached to the Lord’s blessings.
1. He is responsible
2. He is accountable
The blessings of God must be understood and utilized effectively. Blessings that are not well-utilized are virtually “wasted!”
