THE LIFE WAS THE LIGHT OF MEN
Text: John 1:4-5; 8:12

THE LIFE THAT CHRIST GIVES
Sometimes we take for granted the life that Christ Jesus has given to us. Let us take some time to read again about the Life that we have been given.
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
And the light shines in the darkness,
And the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:4-5
- In Him was life
a) Earthly physical life
b) Eternal life
- The Life was the light of men
a) The new life in Christ also gives light
b) This light must be treasured
- The battle between Light and Darkness
a) Darkness will always try and snuff out light
b) But it will never be able to fully extinguish it
c) Light will always shine even in the darkest night
THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
The Lord Jesus Christ clearly and wonderfully declared: –
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying,
“I am the Light of the world.
He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness,
But have the light of life.” John 8:12
- I am the Light of the world
a) What a profound statement
b) The Lord proved the veracity of His bold words
i) In His life
ii) In His teachings
2. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness
a) What a great promise to dwell on
i) We need not fear walking in darkness
ii) We will have Light for our footpath
b) The challenge to take up
i) To follow the Lord
ii) To walk in His light
SEEKING THE LIGHT AT THE FAMILY CAMP
Let us seek the light that comes from the Word of God! Let us desire to seek this Light. And having found that Light let us seek to walk in it always!
