AS HIS DIVINE POWER HAS GIVEN US ALL THINGS

GOD’S PLANS
God’s plan in the choosing of people to become His must be understood in the light of His provision.
Grace and peace be multiplied to you
In the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
As His divine power has given to us all things
That pertain to life and godliness,
Through the knowledge of Him who called us
To glory and virtue,
By which have been given to us exceedingly great
And precious promises, that through these
You may be partakers of the divine nature,
Having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:2-4
- Knowledge
a) Of God
b) And of Jesus the Lord
c) This must be acquired
- Great and precious promises
a) In the acquisition of the knowledge of God, we will come across
i) Great promises
ii) Precious promises
b) How these promises will benefit us
i) Through the knowledge of these promises
ii) We will be able to become “partakers of the divine nature”
iii) We will be able to make good our escape from the world
c) We will be further blessed
i) With grace
ii) With peace from God and the Lord Jesus Christ
- The power of God
a) God’s divine power is available to us
b) All things that pertain to life and godliness
i) We can be assured we will find God’s grace and power
ii) He will enable us to live victoriously
OUR CHALLENGE
Let us not fail to do our part. Let us persevere: –
- In our pursuit of knowledge
- In our perseverance to know God better
- In our prayers to commune with the Lord meaningfully
May we be blessed richly as we seek to apply our faith to the realization of this doctrine of being chosen by God!
