THINGS WORTH SHARING
Sharing is a natural thing we do every day.
We share good news. We share things that are positive. Things that promote good health. Things that are good and wholesome. These are things that are worth sharing.
A FAITH WORTH SHARING
We have a faith that is truly worth sharing. In March and April, over the pulpit we will be sharing with one and all our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
1. Our faith in the Bible
(a) Our faith is derived from the Scriptures
(b) We declare our faith in the Bible
2. Our faith in the Gospel
(a) The word “gospel” simply means “good news”
(b) We share the gospel because we truly believe in the “good news” that we find written in the Scriptures
3. Our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as presented in the Gospel of John
(a) The following things are written in John 1
(b) Here is a summary of the following things we may find in John 1:-
i. Jesus is called “the Word of God”
ii. He is the Light of God
iii. He came to the world to tell people about the Kingdom of God
iv. He was Divine Himself but put on flesh and blood
v. He came to give life eternal to all who turn to Him in faith
vi. His life was wonderfully characterized by truth and grace
RESPONSES TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
There were essentially two types of responses: –
1. Rejection
(a) Some rejected Him because they did not know him well enough
(b) Some rejected Him even though they saw His miracles. Their hearts remained hardened with unbelief.
2. Reception
(a) There were some who understood and appreciated the Lord Jesus Christ
(b) They recognized Him for who He was
i. He was sent by God
ii. He was sent to be the Saviour and the Lord
iii. They received Jesus as their Saviour and Lord
RESPONSE OF THE LORD JESUS
To all who turned to the Lord Jesus in faith, He gave them the right to become children of God. What a glorious faith we have to share! Let us share our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ with great joy in our heart!
