REMEMBERING THE MANY BLESSINGS OF GOD

The wondrous works of God are sometimes expressed in the form of blessings. In Psalm 34, King David recalled the many blessings he received from the hand of God. The following may be highlighted:-

1. Hearing and answering of prayers         Psalm 34:4a, 6, 17

2. Deliverance         Psalm 34:4b, 6, 19

a) From enemies

b) From fears

c) From troubles

3. Protection            Psalm 34:7

a) Divine protection

b) Angelic presence

4. Provision              Psalm 34:10

a) There is no lack

b) God will always faithfully provide

5. Presence of God

a) He is near to all who are humble

b) His presence brings much comfort to the soul

APPROPRIATE RESPONSE TO GOD

How should one respond to God for all that He has done for our souls? The Psalmist David determined that he would do the following:

1. Bless the Lord at all times                     Psalm 34:1a

2. Praise the Lord continually                  Psalm 34:1b

3. Magnify and exalt the Lord                  Psalm 34:3

4. Teach people to fear the Lord              Psalm 34:11

OUR CHALLENGE

Let us be challenged to emulate the example of the Psalmist David.

1. Let us deepen our appreciation of the Lord

2. Let us heighten our awareness of the Presence of the Lord with us

3. Let us determine to walk even more closely with the Lord

4. Let us seek to share with others our faith in the Lord
