SIX WORDS OF STRONG EXHORTATION

1. Praise the LORD

a) Psalms (Psalms 95, 100, 103, 145 etc)
i) Taught
ii) Caught
b) The Psalmists (David, Asaph, Korah)
i) Encouragement
ii) Rebuke as well

2. Call upon His name

a) Psalm 50
b) To seek the Lord
c) To pray to Him
d) To wait upon Him
e) To worship Him

3. Declare His deeds

a) Psalms 78, 104, 105
b) His deeds are never to be forgotten
c) Declare His glory (Psalm 96:3)
d) Declare His glory (Psalm 96:3)

4. Make mention that His name is exalted

a) Psalm 99
b) Exaltation of God’s name
i) A declaration of His majesty and greatness
ii) A celebration of who God is in all His awesome power
iii) He is high above everything in the universe

5.Sing to the LORD, for He has done excellent things

a) Sing to the Lord (Psalm 95:1)
b) A new song (Psalm 96:1)

6. Cry out and shout, O inhabitants of Zion

a) Shout joyfully (Psalm 95:1)

WHAT THESE WORDS OF EXHORTATION MEAN

1. It is reference to worship the Lord with deep gratitude

2. It is a challenge to bear witness

3. It is a call to serve joyfully

4. It is encouragement to change the way we relate to the Lord

5. A challenge to exalt the Lord and His name

THE SPIRIT BEHIND THESE WORDS

1. Passion

2. Revival

3. Empowered

4. New determination

5. New sense of Commitment

6. Return of First-love

7. Deeper discovered-spirituality

8. A new work of God in the heart and soul of the remnant

9. Joyous gratitude

10. Dynamism

WORSHIP IN THE DAYS OF ISAIAH

1. Worship was conducted (Isaiah 1:10-15)

2. Offerings were given

3. Feasts were kept

4. God rejected the worship of Israel

THE MIGHTY WORKS OF GOD

1. What He has done

a) Preserve a small remnant (Isaiah 1:9)
b) Cleansing (Isaiah 1:18, 25)
c) Offer hope for the future (Isaiah 1:19)

2. What He would do in the near future

a) Deal with all the enemies of Israel
i) I will get rid of My adversaries (Isaiah 1:24)
ii) Take vengeance on all My enemies (Isaiah 1:24)
iii) Destruction of transgressors and sinners 9Isaiah 1:26)
iv) Destroy Assyria Isaiah 10
b) Bring a remnant back to Israel (Isaiah 11:11-13)

3. What He would do for the distant future

a) He would send His Messiah
b) He would redeem Zion (Isaiah 1:26)

4. Glorious visions of Zion

a) 1st glorious vision- The Redemption and Establishment of Zion (Isaiah 1:27; 2:2)
i) Out of Zion shall go forth the law and the word of God from Jerusalem (Isaiah 2:3)
ii) Many will come to the house of Jacob (Isaiah 2)
iii) No more war (Isaiah 2:4)
b) 2nd glorious vision: The Redeemed people of Zion
i) The glorious Position of the Branch of the LORD (Isaiah 4:2)
ii) Cleansed and purged (Isaiah 4:4)
iii) Cloud and fire over Zion (Isaiah 4:5)
iv) A tabernacle and a refuge (Isaiah 4:6)

c) 3rd glorious vision: The blessing of Joy

i) With the advent of the Messiah, the great light (Isaiah 9:1-2)
ii) Increased its joy (Isaiah 9:3)
iii) The Messiah will reign on the throne of David (Isaiah 9:6-7)
iv) The zeal of the LORD will perform this (Isaiah 9:7)
d) 4th glorious vision: The return of the remnant
i) The remnant will return to the Mighty God (Isaiah 10:21)
ii) No need to fear the Assyrians (Isaiah 10:24)
e) 5th glorious vision: Life in the Kingdom of the Lord (Isaiah 11:6-11)
i) A banner to the people (Isaiah 11:10)
ii) Gentiles will seek Him (Isaiah 11:10)
iii) Recovery of the remnant (Isaiah 11:11)
iv) A highway for the remnant of His people (Isaiah 11:16)
