2. Significance of the frequent usage of this phrase “My People”

a) To signify a special Relationship
i) Historical Relationship established Exodus 6:7
ii) A Covenantal Relationship Jeremiah 11:1-17
iii) A Personal Relationship
iv) A precious relationship
b) To highlight a Damaged Relationship Jeremiah 2-28
i) A Relationship that had been hurt by sin
ii) A Relationship that has been marred by wicked deeds
iii) A Relationship that saw the People in grave danger
iv) A Relationship that could result in total severance
v) A Relationship that resulted in the destruction of the Old Covenant
c) To signal the Divine Promise of a Restored Relationship
i) Through Returning to the Lord Jeremiah 3:7, 12, 14; 4:1
ii) Through Acknowledgment of sin Jeremiah 3:13
iii) Through Healing of Backsliding Jeremiah 3:22
d) To offer the giving and establishing of a New Covenant
i) The Old Covenant had been broken badly many times
