Text: Jeremiah 33; Hebrews 1-10

I will make a New Covenant Jeremiah 31:31

Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things
Which you do not know. Jeremiah 33:3

They shall be My People, and I will be their God Jeremiah 32:28

1. PROMISES OF THE LORD

a) Healing Jeremiah 33:6
b) Peace and truth Jeremiah 33:6
c) Returning and Rebuilding Jeremiah 33:7
d) Cleansing from all iniquity Jeremiah 33:8
e) Goodness Jeremiah 33:9
f) A Name that will cause all to fear the Lord Jeremiah 33:9
i) Joy
ii) Praise
iii) Honour

2. The Person who will fulfil these Plans of the LORD

a) The Branch of Righteousness Jeremiah 33:15
b) He shall execute judgment and righteousness Jeremiah 33:15
c) Covenant with David My Servant Jeremiah 33:21, 26

3. Identification of the Messianic Son of David

a) The Son who has been appointed Heir of all things Hebrews 1:2
b) The brightness of His glory and the express image
Of His Person Hebrews 1:3
c) He Himself purged our sins Hebrews 1:3
d) Sits at the right hand of the Majesty on high Hebrews 1:3
e) Divine throne that lasts forever and ever Hebrews 1:8
f) But we see Jesus Hebrews 2:9
i) Made a little lower than the angels
ii) For the suffering of death
iii) Crowned with glory and honour
iv) By the grace of God, tasted death for everyone
g) The Captain of our salvation Hebrews 2:10-12
i) Made perfect through suffering
ii) He sanctifies
iii) Those who are sanctified
iv) All of one
v) Not ashamed to call us brethren
h) Victory over Satan Hebrews 2:14-15
i) Destruction of Satan
ii) Destroyed the power of death
i) Our High Priest Hebrews 2:16-18; 3:1
i) Merciful
ii) Faithful
iii) Makes propitiation for our sins
iv) He is able to aid us who are tested/ tempted
v) Great Hebrews 4:14
vi) Passed through the heavens Hebrews 4:14
vii) The Order of Melchizedek Hebrews 5:6, 10, 20; 7:17

4. The New Covenant

a) Annulling the former commandments Hebrews 7:18-19
i) Weak
ii) Unprofitable
iii) It made nothing perfect
b) A better hope through which we draw nearer to God Hebrews 7:19
c) Jesus has become surety of a Better Covenant Hebrews 7:22
d) Mediator of a Better Covenant Hebrews 8:6-12

You have come to: –

a) Mount Zion
b) The city of the living God
c) The heavenly Jerusalem
d) An innumerable company of angels
e) The general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven
f) God the Judge of all
g) The spirits of just men made perfect
h) Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant
i) The blood of sprinkling that speaks better things that that of Abel

6. The Beneficiaries of the New Covenant

a) Cleansing of our conscience from our dead works Hebrews 9:14
b) To serve the living God Hebrews 9:14
c) Those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance Hebrews 9:15
d) Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus Hebrews 10:19
i) By a new
ii) And living way
iii) Which He consecrated for us through the veil, that is His flesh

7. Appropriate responses

a) Let us draw near Hebrews 10:22
i) With a true heart
ii) In full assurance of faith
iii) Having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience
iv) And our bodies washed with pure water
b) Let us hold fast Hebrews 10:23
i) The confession of our hope
ii) Without wavering
iii) For He who promised is faithful
c) Let us consider one another Hebrews 10:24
i) To stir up to love
ii) And good works
iii) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together
as the manner of some is
iv) But exhorting one another
and so much the more as you see the Day approaching
d) The just shall live by faith Hebrews 10:38-39
Those who believe to the saving of the soul
e) No drawing back to perdition Hebrews 10:38-39
i) Sinning willfully by rejection Hebrews 10:26-28
ii) Trampling the Son of God underfoot Hebrews 10:29
