(I) TESTIMONY OF DIFFICULT STRUGGLES IN LIFE

1. Fighting deadly foes (Psalm 18:4)

2. Fighting deep fears (Psalm 18:4)

3. Fighting the snares of death (Psalm 18:5)

4. Fighting feelings of distress (Psalm 18:6)

(II) TESTIMONY OF DELIVERANCE FROM GOD

1. Drawn out from deep waters (Psalm 18:6)

2. Delivered from strong enemies (Psalm 18:17)

3. Delighted in by God (Psalm 18:19)

(III) TESTIMONY OF BEING GIVEN GREAT STRENGTH FROM GOD

1. God as the Source of strength (Psalm 18:32)

a) A Shield (protection) ( Psalm 18:30, 35 )

b) A Rock ( Psalm 18:31 )

c) The work of God

i) He arms ( Psalm 18:32 )

ii) He makes the feet steady ( Psalm 18:33 )

iii) He sets on high places ( Psalm 18:33 )

iv) He teaches ( Psalm 18:34 )

v) He upholds ( Psalm 18:35 )

vi) He makes one great ( Psalm 18:35 )

2. Resulting strength

a) Run against a troop ( Psalm 18:29 )

b) Leap over a wall ( Psalm 18:29 )

c) Armed with strength ( Psalm 18:32, 39 )

d) Great strength given (“Can bend a bow of bronze”) ( Psalm 18:34 )

e) There is conquest of enemies ( Psalm 18:37-42 )

(IV) SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS TESTIMONY

1. To extol the Lord

2. To encourage a deeper faith in God

3. To strengthen love for the Lord

4. To experience God’s strength personally
