TRANSFORMED INTO THE SAME IMAGE FROM GLORY TO GLORY

(I) GOD’S FULL SALVATION PLAN

1. God has given us a New Covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6)

2. God writes on our heart (2 Corinthians 3:3)

3. God ministers to us through the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:3, 6, 8, 17)

(II) WHAT THE OLD COVENANT COULD NOT DO

1. It is only engraved on stones (2 Corinthians 3:7)

2. The apostle called it “the ministry of death” (2 Corinthians 3:7)

3. He also called it “the ministry of condemnation” (2 Corinthians 3:7)

a) Death penalty when the law is broken

b) The law did not have the power to transform

c) The law could only condemn lawbreakers

4. It only had a passing glory (2 Corinthians 3:7)

5. The Evil One continues to veil people when they understand only the Old Covenant

(III) WHAT THE NEW COVENANT CAN DO

1. God gives sufficiency (2 Corinthians 3:5-6)

a) For life

b) For ministry

2. It is a more glorious ministry (2 Corinthians 3:8, 11)

3. Paul called it “the ministry of righteousness” (2 Corinthians 3:9)

(IV) THE GLORIOUS GOAL OF THE NEW COVENANT

1. We are transformed (2 Corinthians 3:18)

a) This is an on-going work

b) This is a deep work of the Spirit

c) Great power is involved in the transformation process

2. We will bear the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18)

3. From glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18)

a) Glory in being saved

b) Glory in the transforming process

c) Glory in the final product
