AN ETERAL WEIGHT OF GLORY

(I) A GLORIOUS MINISTRY GIVEN TO US
1. The ministry of the new Covenant (2 Corinthians 3:6)
2. The ministry of the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:8)
a) Greater than the ministry of Moses
b) Greater than the ministry of the Old Covenant administered by Moses ( 2 Corinthians 3:7-11 )
3. It is a ministry that focuses on the Eternal and not the Temporal
(II) SERVING GOD IN THE NEW COVENANT MINISTRY
1. We do not lose heart (2 Corinthians 4:1)
a) Because of the mercy of God ( 2 Corinthians 4:1 )
b) Because of our hope of immortality in Christ ( 2 Corinthians 4:16 )
2. We reject false ways of service (2 Corinthians 4:1-2)
a) The hidden things of shame ( 2 Corinthians 4:2a )
b) Craftiness ( 2 Corinthians 4:2b )
c) Deceitful handling of the word of God ( 2 Corinthians 4:2c )
3. We embrace that which is appropriate
a) Manifestation of the truth ( 2 Corinthians 4:2d )
b) Commending ourselves to man’s conscience ( 2 Corinthians 4:2e )
c) In the sight of God ( 2 Corinthians 4:2f )
(III) THE PLACE OF ETERNITY IN OUR HEART
1. We accept the following sobering realities
a) Suffering in life ( 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 )
b) Delivered to death ( 2 Corinthians 4:11-12 )
2. We embrace the following truths
a) We live by faith ( 2 Corinthians 4:13 )
b) We believe in the resurrection ( 2 Corinthians 4:14 )
c) We look forward to Eternity ( 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 )
