HIS GRACE TOWARD ME WAS NOT IN VAIN

(I) AN ANSWER TO THE PROBLEM OF SIN

“…But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” Romans 5:20

1. Recognition of how sin abounded

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned” Romans 5:12

2. The “Law” is not the answer to sin

“Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace abounded much more.” Romans 5:20

3. An answer to the abundance of sin

“But the free gift is not like the offence…much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” Romans 5:15

(II) ABUNDANCE OF THE GRACE OF GOD

1. Through the abundance of grace we have the gift of righteousness

“For if by one man’s offence death reigned through the one; much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17

2. Grace abounded much more to overcome sin

“Moreover the law entered that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded grace abounded much more.” Romans 5:20

3. Grace itself reign our life

“So that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:21

(III) APPRECIATION TO HIS ABOUNDING GRACE

1. Let us learn to depend His abounding grace of God

2. Let’s take time to appreciate His abounding grace

3. Let us declare His abounding grace to all other people to bring back to God
