(I) A PRAYER FOR VINDICATION

“Let my vindication come from Your presence…” Psalm 17:2a

1. A complex prayer

2. A candid approach needed

3. A courageous lifestyle

(II) CONTENT OF A PRAYER FOR VINDICATION

1. It must be a just cause (Psalm 17:1a)

2. Prayer must be made with no deceit (Psalm 17:1b)

3. The heart must be prepared to be tested (Psalm 17:3a)

4. Lifestyle must be examined (Psalm 17:4c)

(III) REASONS FOR THIS PRAYER FOR VINDICATION

1. Oppression of the wicked (Psalm 17:9a)

2. Deadly enemies who surround (Psalm 17:9b)

3. Danger of being prey to wicked human predators (Psalm 17:10-12)

4. Grave danger posed by wicked men (Psalm 17:13)

(IV) DESIRED OUTCOME

1. Confrontation of the wicked (Psalm 17:13a)

2. Casting down of the wicked (Psalm 17:13b)

(V) CONFIDENCE IN GOD’S VINDICATION

1. Trust in God’s tender protection (Psalm 17:8)

2. Faith to see God’s face in righteousness (Psalm 17:15a)

3. Satisfaction in being in the likeness of God (Psalm 17:15b)
