ALL OF ONE

(I) THE WORK OF JESUS

1. He must become Man (Hebrews 2:9)

a) A little lower than the angels

To suffer and to die

b) Crowned with honour and glory after His resurrection

2. He is the captain of our salvation (Hebrews 2:10-11)

a) He must endure suffering for us

b) He was “made perfect” through His suffering

c) He was then able to offer salvation to all who believe in Him

(II) A SPECIAL SENSE OF ONENESS BECAUSE OF SALVATION

1. He is one with us

a) He is the Sanctifier

b) We are the sanctified ones

2. He makes us His brethren

a) He acknowledges us as His brethren ( Hebrews 2:11-13 )

b) He is not ashamed to call us His brethren ( Hebrews 2:11)

(III) LIVING OUT THE SPECIAL SENSE OF ONENESS IN THE CHURCH

1. Awareness of what Jesus sought to achieve

a) Giving us salvation

b) Giving us the privilege of being called His brethren

c) Giving us the spirit of oneness

2. Appreciation of what Jesus has done

a) Great significance in being given the privilege of being included in the Divine heavenly family

b) Great sense of awe should be in our heart

3. Application of the spirit of oneness

a) Our regard for the Church

b) Our regard for each other

c) Our commitment to practise the spirit of brotherhood
