1. Lifting of the soul to God in prayer (Psalm 25:1)

2. Declaring trust in God in prayer (Psalm 25:2, 20)

3. Focusing firmly on the Lord (Psalm 25:15)

(II) EXPRESSING TRUST IN SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINES

1. Seeking God and His ways (Psalm 25:4-5)

2. Waiting upon God (Psalm 25:5b, 21b)

3. Seeking forgiveness (Psalm 25:11)

4. Fearing the Lord (Psalm 25:12, 14)

(III) HOLDING FAST TO TRUST IN GOD AMIDST TROUBLES

1. The problem of enemies (Psalm 25:2)

a) Many ( Psalm 25:19a )

b) Cruel hatred ( Psalm 25:19b )

2. The problem of treachery (Psalm 25:3)

a) Treachery itself

b) Treachery without cause

3. The problem of snares (Psalm 25:15)

a) Nets

b) Caught by snares

4. The problem of distress (Psalm 25:17)

Caused by “troubles”

(IV) PRAYING FIRST AND LAST

1. Praying in trust at the outset (Psalm 25:1-2)

2. Continuing in prayer

a) In knowledge of the Lord ( Psalm 25:8-11 )

b) In hope that God would deliver ( Psalm 25:20 )

c) In certainty that God would preserve ( Psalm 25:21 )

3. Concluding in prayer (Psalm 25:22)

a) Praying for others

b) Praying for the nation
