THE PROBLEM OF HAVING MIXED EMOTIONS IN TIMES OF GREAT DIFFICULTY

1. Facing an overwhelming situation  (Exodus 14:7-9)

a. Seeing the impending attack of Pharaoh and his armies
b. Facing the Red Sea in front of them

2. Having cluster of emotions

a. Fear   (Exodus 14:10)
b. Sarcasm   (Exodus 14:11)
c. Anger   (Exodus 14:11)
d. Frustration   (Exodus 14:12)
e. Irrational   (Exodus 14:12)

IMPORTANT ADVICE GIVEN

“Do not be afraid, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today….”   Exodus 14:13

1. A word to exercise faith

a. To not fear
b. To exercise faith
c. To see the salvation of the Lord
d. To hold their peace

2. Stopping the fear and anger

3. Good measure but limited

THE CHALLENGE TO TAKE A BIG STEP OF FAITH

“And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”   Exodus 14:15

1. To remember God’s plan

2. To step into God’s plan

3. To act in faith

4. To see God’s glory   (Exodus 14:17-18)

THE RESULT OF GOING FORWARD IN FAITH

1. Experiencing God’s protection   (Exodus 14:19-20)

2. Experiencing God’s power   (Exodus 14:21-22)

3. Experiencing God’s deliverance   (Exodus 14:27, 30)

APPLICATION OF FAITH

1. Remembering God’s plan

2. Responding with a big step of faith into God’s plan

3. Really getting down to action

4. Result – Appreciating the Lord’s hand of blessing
