ESTABLISHING THE WORK OF OUR HANDS

“And establish the work of our hands for us…”   Psalm 90:17

1. Making a much needed prayer

2. Seeing how things can go wrong easily

3. Seeking God to establish the work of our hands

THE LORD’S EXAMPLE IN DOING GOD’S WORK

1. The Lord’s singlemindedness in doing God’s work   (John 4:1-38)

2. The Lord going beyond human barriers   (John 4:7-8)

THE LORD’S REASONS FOR DOING GOD’S WORK

“Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.”   John 4:34

“I must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day, the night is coming when no one can work.”   John 9:4

1. Consciousness of being sent by God to do His will – Fulfilling the prophecy of (Isaiah 61:1-3)

a. Soul winning work
b. Transformation work
c. Discipleship work

2. Commitment to start and finish God’s work

3. Sense of urgency to do God’s work

OUR PART IN DOING GOD’S WORK

“Do not say, “there are still four months, then comes the harvest…”   John 4:35

1. Stop procrastinating

2. See the needs of others (John 4:35)

a. Look at the fields
b. The harvest fields are already white

3. Doing Hard work – Sowing and reaping   (John 4:36)

a. Sowing – The Samaritan woman was sowing
b. Reaping – The Lord Jesus was reaping
4. Being sent by the Lord to labour also   (John 4:38)
