(I) THE ORIGINAL DESIGN OF THE FELLOWSHIP FORMED IN THE EARLY CHURCH

1. The definition of the word “Fellowship”

“…fellowship…” Acts 2:42

a) It means having close relationship with each other based on a common faith.

b) It involves the cultivation of the close relationship with one another.

2. The expressions of the fellowship are

a) Doctrine and fellowship

“…doctrine and fellowship…” Acts 2:42

b) Breaking bread

“…in the breaking bread…” Acts 2:42

c) Having a sense of oneness in prayers

“…in prayers.” Acts 2:42

d) By had all things in Common

“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common” Acts 2:44

e) By praising the LORD

“praising God…” Acts 2:47

(II) THE CHALLENGE TO CONTINUE IN THE PRACTICE OF FELLOWSHIP

1. By continuing steadfastly

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” Acts 2:42

2. By continuing daily with one accord

“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple…” Acts 2:46

(III) OUR PERSONAL CHALLENGES IN PRACTICING THE FELLOWSHIP

1. Let’s appreciate the fellowship that we have

2. Let’s not take fellowship for granted

3. Let’s learn to continue in fellowship with one another

4. Let’s learn to remain firmly in it with one mind
