I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL

(I) THE CALLING OF THE LORD JESUS TO DO THE WILL OF GOD

“Behold I have come to do your will, O God.” Hebrews 10:9

1. The prophetic word from Psalm 40:6-8

2. The Lord Jesus’ fulfilment of God will

a) Personal motto of life

“Therefore, when He came into the world, He said…” Hebrews 10:5

b) Personally recalling what He had said

“Previously saying….” Hebrews 10:8

c)Performing of what He had said

“Then He said…” Hebrews 10:9

(II) THE WAY THE LORD FULFILLED THE CALLING TO DO THE WILL OF GOD

1. Filling of the Spirit of God

a) Wisdom, might and fearing the Lord ( Isaiah 11:1-4 )

b) Having Strength of character ( Isaiah 42:1-7 )

c) Power to minister ( Isaiah 61:1-4 )

2. Faith in the Lord God’s involvement in His life and ministry

a) Holding His hand ( Isaiah 42:6 )

b) keeping Him ( Isaiah 42:6 )

c) Helping Him ( Isaiah 50:7 )

d) Strengthening Him ( Isaiah 49:5 )

3. Fervent walk with God (Isaiah. 50:4-9)

4. Full Commitment to the death (Isaiah 53)

(III) OUR CHALLENGE TO MAKE DOING THE WILL OF GOD OUR CALLING TOO

1. Focusing on the example of the Lord Jesus (Hebrews 2:9, 3:1, 12:2)

2. Being Illumined about the Lord’s will for our life (Hebrews 10:32)

3. Living by faith (Hebrews 10:38)

4. Enduring the struggles of life (Hebrews 10:32-37)

5. Doing the will of God to the end (Hebrews 10:36)
