"I will save My people"
Text: Zechariah 8:7
POWERFUL WORDS OF ASSURANCE
The doubts and feelings of unbelief were strong in the hearts of the remnant. They needed to hear strong words of encouragement from the Lord.
“Thus says the LORD of hosts:
‘Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east
And from the land of the west;
I will bring them back,
And they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem.
They shall be My people
And I will be their God,
In truth and righteousness.'”
Zechariah 8:7-8
1. The plan of salvation revealed
a) God will save His people wherever they may be.
b) He will deliver them from both the lands of the East and West.
c) He continues to regard the dispersed as “My people”.
2. Plans to bring back God’s people to their homeland
a) The LORD God will indeed bring them back.
b) They will be brought back safely.
c) They will inhabit Jerusalem:
i) Old men and women.
ii) Little boys and girls.
d) They will be well-regarded as “His people”.
e) The LORD of hosts will be their God.
i) Truth and righteousness would prevail.
ii) God’s word was given also “in truth and righteousness”.
All that God had spoken through Zechariah the prophet will be fulfilled!
