Text: Galatians 6: 9-10
MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Galatians 6:9-10
DOING THAT WHICH IS GOOD
1. It was the Lord Jesus who taught His Disciples to do good deeds.
a. He urged His disciples to shine as lights.
b. Doing good works allowed the light to shine brightly (Matthew 5:16).
c. Doing that which is good will be commended (Matthew 25:31-39).
2. Paul followed through by constantly encouraging the churches to do good things.
a. They were to do good things heartily.
b. They were to do this as for the Lord (Colossians 3:17, 23).
3. To the Galatians he had this word of admonition.
a. To not be wearied in doing good.
b. Doing good was compared to sowing.
c. There will come a time when we will be able to reap a good harvest.
d. The important thing to note is not to lose heart!
4. Doing good.
a. Every opportunity must be seized.
b. The challenge is to do good things to all.
c. Non-believers are not to be excluded.
5. The household of faith.
a. There must also not be neglect of those who are in the same household of faith.
b. There are people who are in need in the local church community.
6. Paul’s personal experience in such matters.
a. He and Barnabas brought relief goods to those who were affected by a famine that hit Jerusalem (Acts 11:27-30).
b. The victims were of the same household of faith.
