MSITN VITAL DOCTRINES – SALVATION
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Galatians 3:28-29
ALL ONE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
1. Ramifications of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are wonderful to note.
2. In the Lord Jesus Christ:
a. There is no racial discrimination.
i. The person who is a Jew has no special privileges.
ii. The person who is a Greek is not disadvantaged in any way.
b. There is no social class distinction.
i. The slave is a child of God just as much,
ii. As a person who is “free”.
c. There is also no gender distinction.
i. The male is not more privileged.
ii. The female is equally a child of God as the male.
d. All are “one in Christ Jesus”.
i. All have equal privileges.
ii. All are regarded as children of God.
3. Further application of what it means to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
a. We are “Christ’s”.
i. We are identified with the Lord Jesus.
ii. We belong to Him fully, with all rights and privileges.
b. We are also Abraham’s seed.
i. Through the Lord Jesus Christ.
ii. We do not need to trace our tribal lineage.
iii. We trace our lineage through the Seed of Abraham, the Lord Jesus.
c. We are heirs according to the promise.
i. We are the spiritual heirs of Abraham.
ii. We are true heirs of God.
iii. The promise of God’s blessing to Abraham’s descendants will come to his spiritual heirs.
