Text: Luke 19: 28-34

GOING TO JERUSALEM

The Lord Jesus Christ had been to Jerusalem many times.

1. Mary and Joseph went to Jerusalem every year (Luke 2:41).

2. The Lord Jesus was with them when He was twelve (Luke 2:42).

3. He ministered in Jerusalem besides Galilee (John 8:2).

4. But He had always entered Jerusalem quietly.

PLANNING TO ENTER JERUSALEM DIFFERENTLY

1. This was to be the Lord’s last trip to Jerusalem (Luke 19:28).

2. He had already informed His Disciples what would happen in Jerusalem.

a. He must suffer many things (Luke 17:25a).

b. And be rejected by this generation (Luke 17:25b).

BETHPHAGE, AT THE FOOTHILLS OF MT OLIVET

1. The Lord Jesus was drawing near to two villages.

a. Bethphage (Luke 19:29a)

i. This was the lesser-known village.

ii. It would be remembered in history.

b. Bethany (Luke 19:29b)

i. This was the village of Lazarus, Martha and Mary.

ii. This was the more famous of the two villages that were close to each other.

2. A pre-arranged plan.

a. Two of the Disciples would go into Bethphage.

b. There they would find a colt tethered there.

c. This colt was an untried one; no one had ever ridden on it.

d. They were to bring the colt to the Lord Jesus (Luke 19:30).

3. If they were to be questioned:

“Why are you loosing it?”

Luke 19:31a

4. They must answer:

“The Lord has need of it.”

AS THE LORD JESUS HAD TOLD THEM

1. The Disciples went to Bethphage.

2. While they were loosing the colt, they were questioned.

3. They answered as the Lord Jesus had instructed them (Luke 19:34).

WHY WAS THERE THIS SECRECY?

1. The Lord Jesus knew the danger that threatened Him.

a. His enemies would try and arrest Him.

b. They would try and hamper and harass Him.

2. There was a prophecy that needed to be fulfilled.

3. This sense of secrecy was wise and necessary to ensure that His specially planned entry into Jerusalem would not be thwarted in any way.

4．他们就说:

“主要用它”

《路加福音 19:31b》

正如主耶稣告诉他们的

1．门徒们去了伯法其

2．正当他们解驴驹的时候，主人问他们

3．他们就按照主耶稣的吩咐回答《路加福音 19:34》

为什么要保密？

1．主耶稣知道祂所面临的危险

a．祂的敌人会试图逮捕祂

b．他们会试图阻碍和骚扰祂

2．有一个预言需要应验

3．这种保密意识是明智和必要的，以确保祂进入耶路撒冷的特别计划不会受到任何的阻挠
