Text: Genesis 50: 19-21
MEDITATION
Genesis 50:19-21
19 Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.
21 Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Assurance from Joseph
a. The brothers need not be afraid.
b. He would not judge them as if he was God Himself.
2. The evil deed of the brothers
a. Selling him was an evil thing to do.
b. Their hearts had been evil when they sold Joseph.
3. The Will of God
a. God turned that evil deed around.
b. Good came out of that evil deed.
c. In God’s sovereign will
i. Joseph was now able to save many lives.
ii. He saw the higher hand of God at work.
4. The promise of Joseph
a. He asked the brothers not to be afraid.
b. He will continue to provide for them.
c. And for their children as well.
5. Kindness and comfort
a. Joseph showed much genuine kindness.
b. He wanted to comfort and assure the brothers that he would not harm them.

20从前你们的意思是要害我，但神的意思原是好的，要保全许多人的性命，成就今日的光景。21现在你们不要害怕，我必养活你们和你们的妇人孩子。”于是，约瑟用亲爱的话安慰他们。
