Text: Genesis 46: 5-7
MEDITATION
Genesis 46:5-7
5 Then Jacob arose from Beersheba; and the sons of Israel carried their father Jacob, their little ones, and their wives, in the carts which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
6 So they took their livestock and their goods, which they had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to Egypt, Jacob and all his descendants with him.
7 His sons and his sons’ sons, his daughters and his sons’ daughters, and all his descendants he brought with him to Egypt.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. From Beersheba to Egypt
Jacob moved on to Egypt with assurance in his heart.
2. Jacob’s health
a. He was very old.
b. He was too frail to walk much.
c. He had to be carried.
3. The cart from Pharaoh
a. The carts were useful and important.
b. They carried:
i. Jacob
ii. The little children
iii. The wives
4. A description of all who came to Egypt
a. Jacob and all his descendants.
b. Everyone went down to Egypt.
c. No family member was left behind.
5. Livestock and other possessions
They brought with them everything they owned. This was wise for the famine would continue to be very severe for the next five years.

5雅各就从别是巴起行。以色列的儿子们使他们的父亲雅各和他们的妻子、儿女都坐在法老为雅各送来的车上。
6他们又带着迦南地所得的牲畜、货财来到埃及。雅各和他的一切子孙都一同来了。7雅各把他的儿子、孙子、女儿、孙女,并他的子子孙孙,一同带到埃及。
